Running P Ropes Company manufactures seven different lays of ropes in four diameters and four varied blends of materials. Our diversified product line gives our dealers an inventory designed to satisfy any “feel” their roping customers could desire.

The Seven Different Rope Lays

The seven lays of ropes manufactured by Running P Ropes company are:

Extra Soft, Soft, Medium Soft, Medium, Hard Medium, Medium Hard and Hard.

The extra soft and medium soft ropes are generally preferred by headers. Heelers on occasion use a medium soft rope, but they generally prefer the medium, hard medium and medium hard. Some heelers prefer a hard lay of rope. Find the rope lay that is right for you, check out our Rope Lay Chart.

Running P Ropes Rope Diameters

The diameter of our rope lariats are 5/16 inch for junior ropes, 3/8 inch lite, 3/8 inch scant, 3/8 inch true and 3/8 inch full.

The rope diameter is a matter of individual preference that contributes to the “feel” that is roper wants.
